Luxury Villa Collections Concierge, Martin Clerici, shares with us some travel tips and insights for travelers visiting Los Cabos.
Share with us a little bit about yourself, where do you come from, what brought you to Cabo, and what made you stay?
Hi! I’m from Argentina. What brought me to Cabo? I came to Cabo because I’ve been working in hospitality industry and restaurants since I was 17 years old. I have two very good friends here in Cabo and we worked together in Argentina. My first idea was to go to Cancun or Playa del Carmen, then I called my friends and I changed my mind very quickly.
Please share with us top 5 Los Cabos beaches that Luxury Villa Collections guests like the most?
That is easy: Chileno Bay, Santa Maria Bay, Medano beach, Cabo Pulmo and Cerritos Beach for a great day in the water or surfing.
Which top 5 activities would you recommend travelers to see when visiting Los Cabos or Baja. What are some of the new activities in Los Cabos, that travelers might be interested in?
Los Cabos and Baja are very diverse and offer so much to see and explore; be it on the water, on the land, or in the air! Some of my recommendations are: Deep Sea Fishing (it really doesn’t get better than deep sea fishing in Los Cabos!), sunset tours – especially great for a romantic tour and view of Cabo San Lucas at night. Zip lining is a great way to experience the Baja desert and nature. Snorkeling tours in Baja are again some of the best in the world; if you have time visit Cabo Pulmo, which is about an hour and a half away from Cabo, but if not, you can see a lot in Cabo as well! Horseback riding on the beach is always a must, is like that movie scene you’ve always wanted to experience, and camel tours are among newer experiences, and very fun! I took my friends this summer for an Outback & Camel Safari and they loved it – the camels are very nice and friendly!
In your opinion, what are the advantages of renting a private villa vs. booking a hotel room?
The advantages of renting a private villa are that guests will pay less money for the same, or even better, accommodation. We have a complete staff (maintenance, housekeeping & concierge, in addition to a personal chef, personal driver and a masseuse) with an amazing communication between each other. Besides that, our destination manager Gonzalo, concierge Victor and I are always on call, anytime, for our guests needs. Our guests favorite villas are located in Auberge Residences at Punta Ballena, Cabo del Sol, at Hacienda Beach Club & Residences, and in Puerto Los Cabos. Each community is beautiful and offers different amenities and features for our guests.
What is your favorite place in Los Cabos, and your favorite place in Baja?
My favorite place in Cabo is beautiful and swimmable Santa Maria Bay (I also love snorkeling and kayaking there) and my favorite place in Baja is La Paz. If you haven’t visited La Paz yet, you must visit and experience the beaches and islands on the other side of a peninsula as well.
Some final thoughts on Los Cabos?
If you have never been in Los Cabos before, and even if you have been, but have no plans yet where to go this winter, go and buy some tickets for this upcoming High Season! We have 350 sunny days per year and it doesn’t get much better than that! ☺
